Jay Faugot, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, has a profound love for astronomy, travel and photography. His dad enjoyed photography as well and taught him how to use his Voigtlander 35mm camera.

 

Jay began his photographic career at Fatima High School as a yearbook photographer and was asked to work part-time for Bud Henley as an assistant and darkroom technician. He continued to work there while attending USL. In 1984, he started Jay Faugot Photography and moved to his Jefferson Street location in 1985. In July of 2021, the studio moved to its new location on James Comeaux Road in Lafayette.

 

The studio specializes in commercial photography, weddings, children and family portraiture, high school seniors and sporting events. Jay Faugot Photography has been named Best of Acadiana for numerous years. Jay has enjoyed traveling to various locations photographing weddings in Ireland, Cabo San Lucas, Monterey, Chicago and other destinations.
